Every week, The Independent's digital sports team picks out the key players, performances and talking points from the weekend's Premier League action.

Simon Rice and Jack de Menezes discuss Manchester City's victory over bitter rivals Manchester United. Louis van Gaal's side now have only three wins this season and it's their worst start to the league in 28 years. Sergio Aguero came to the rescue once more, although questions were raised about Manuel Pellegrini's tactics.

Chelsea were unconvincing in their win over QPR with Eden Hazard's match-winning penalty proving a controversial decision. Jose Mourinho also criticised the Blues' fans for the lack of atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, it was another positive performance from QPR but Harry Redknapp's side still only have two wins to their name.

The rehabilitation of Alan Pardew continues at St. James' Park with Newcastle securing their fourth win in a row at the weekend after triumphing against Liverpool. With West Brom, QPR, West Ham and Burnley up next, could the Magpies witness another four-in-a-row? Liverpool have now failed to score in three of the last four matches, with Real Madrid and Chelsea next up.

Finally, Arsenal beat Burnley 3-0, with the Gunners winning three games in a row for the first time this season. That's just what Arsene Wenger needed ahead of a crucial Champions League tie against Anderlecht this week.

Burnley are still without a win after ten games and with just four points to their name, that's a worse record than Derby at this stage of the season during the 2007-2008 season when the Rams managed just 11 points over 38 games.
