Radamel Falcao: Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal already hinting at making loan move permanent

Louis van Gaal has hinted that he is already thinking about making Radamel Falcao's loan move from Monaco to Manchester United permanent.

The Colombian moved on a season-long loan from the French side with the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.

During Falcao's unveiling today, the United manager said that "maybe we can buy him for next season," when explaining the details of the player's transfer.

Van Gaal described Falcao, who has scored 200 goals in 305 club matches, as one of the best strikers in the world.

"He's one of the best strikers in the world. When you see his record, it's unbelievable," the manager said.

Falcao, meanwhile, claimed he had always "dreamed" of playing for a club like United. He is expected to make his debut for the club on Sunday in the home game against Queens Park Rangers.

"I'm very happy to be here, it's a big challenge for me and for my career," the 28-year-old said. "I always dreamed to be in a club like Manchester United."

The striker said that the quality of his team-mates will help him settle at Old Trafford.

"When you are surrounded by quality players it makes any settling in period a lot easier," he said.

Falcao was showcased alongside fellow new recruit Daley Blind, who said that he cannot wait to play for Van Gaal again. Blind played under Van Gaal for the Netherlands at the recent World Cup.

"I'm looking forward to working with him again," said Blind, who admitted that Van Gaal was a big factor in him signing for United from Ajax.
