Radamel Falcao 'nervous' of knee injury ahead of Manchester United debut

Loan signing set for United bow at home to QPR on Sunday

Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has admitted he is 'nervous' ahead of his debut for the club.

Falcao, a deadline day loan signing from Monaco, is in line to play for his new club when United face Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Colombian striker, 28, suffered a serious knee injury in January that kept him out of the World Cup.

Falcao played his first game for his national team since 2013 in the 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Friday night and said the ACL injury had left him anxious before that match.

Falcao says he will also feel nervous at Old Trafford on Sunday but has no concerns about his fitness and feels 'spectacular' phsyically.

"Because of the injury I felt so nervous," he admitted. "Almost like it was my first time with the national team. And I expect it will be the same before I play my first game for Manchester United.

"I'm so happy to be back, and I am also happy about being able to join United. Physically I feel spectacular. I have been able to play without any kind of trouble."

With Louis van Gaal still searching for his first Premier League win, Falcao could make his debut along with Marcos Rojo, after the defender finally had his work permit accepted.

Falcao added: "I am very excited about playing for Manchester United, and I hope to score a lot of goals for them. That is something I have done everywhere I have played

"It is a dream come true to play for such a great and famous club. To bring the good times back is what we all want, and I will work extra hard to do that. I made the right choice to join Manchestrer United.

"United was always in my best interests. I have been trying for months to get it all sorted out and I was so happy that United came to an agreement with Monaco. United are one of the three best clubs in the world. They have made me feel very important in this project."
