Saido Berahino to Tottenham: Unsettled striker set to miss out on coveted switch
The Baggies striker claimed he would never play for the club again after failing to secure a move away in the summer

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is set to face more frustratation in his attempts to secure a move to Tottenham Hotspur as chairman Jeremy Peace refuses to sell.
The Baggies chief fell-out with his Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy in the summer and rejected two late offers on transfer deadline day, prompting the 22-year-old to insist he would never play for the club again.
Berahino eventually backtracked from that stance but was spotted by supporters of the Black Country outfit ‘liking’ a series of posts on Twitter this week suggesting he was being kept ‘hostage’ by Peace.
Mauricio Pochettino, the Tottenham manager, is known to be a keen admirer of the West Brom forward and wants to reunite him upfront with Harry Kane, who played alongside each other in the England under-21s set-up.

After a bitter dispute six months ago, it is reported by the Daily Mirror that the rift between Peace and Levy may not be repaired in time for the January transfer window meaning Berahino will be forced to stay until the end of the season.
Chelsea could offer another route out of the Hawthorns, however, and have been linked with making a £20m offer in the coming weeks to add extra firepower to their stuttering squad.
Tony Pulis has kept his star striker on the bench in recent weeks and may be open to the prospect of a winter sale if he frees up funds and ends a saga which has lasted almost 12 months.
