Southampton produced an impressive performance to see off Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.
Danny Ings scored the only goal of the game, expertly finishing past Paulo Gazzaniga in the first half for his 12th goal of the season.
It means more woe on the road for Jose Mourinho and his side who have failed to keep a clean sheet away from home in more than a year.
The result cedes more ground in the race for the top four while giving Saints a much-needed three points in the battle to avoid the drop at the other end of the table.
