Stoke are rock bottom of the Premier League with four defeats from their opening five games, as well as losing to Hull in the EFL Cup in midweek. Mark Hughes is starting to come under pressure as his expensively assembled team are struggling to churn out results having conceded 14 times already this season.

West Brom fans are probably more upset with their manager, despite being on course for yet another mid-table finish under Tony Pulis. However, a thrilling 4-2 win against West Ham – where the Baggies were 4-0 up at one point – has shown his side are capable of entertaining.

It’s a big game for…

Tony Pulis. The Welshman is going back to his old club where he had so much success for his 1000th game as a manager. It is a big game for Pulis but he will only be focussed on getting another three points to keep the West Brom fans who are desperate for him to leave off his back.

Best stat…

Pulis has won all four of his Premier League games against his former side, winning once with Stoke and three times with the Baggies.

Remember when...

Stoke City had two players sent off in this fixture last season when Ibrahim Afellay and Charlie Adam were given their marching orders within 16 minutes of each other in the first half of the game. West Brom went on to win 1-0 with Salomon Rondon scoring the only goal.

Player to watch…

Wilfried Bony. The on-loan Manchester City striker has been reportedly upsetting his teammates with his perceived lack of effort so far this season. However, Bony will relish the physical battle with West Brom’s centre backs and don’t be surprised if he opens his Stoke City account on Saturday.

Stoke 0 West Brom 1 (Rondon) – August 29, 2016
