Tottenham Hotspur look set to subsidise Emmanuel Adebayor's £100,000-a-week wages in order to finally offload the striker this summer.

The Togolese frontman has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and manager Mauricio Pochettino is happy for the former Manchester City man to leave once the transfer window re-opens.

However Adebayor's wages could be a huge stumbling block, with the striker unwilling to accept anything less than his current £5.2million salary.

After several attempts to get the player off their wage bill, Spurs are now prepared to pay a percentage of Adebayor's wages next year - according to the Daily Mail.

Adebayor will be in the final 12 months of his contract in the summer and will be made available for loan or even a permanent move.
