Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham can win the Premier League this season in what he thinks could be “an open year”.

Tottenham have started the campaign with mixed results, losing to Everton and drawing with Newcastle at home while achieving huge wins over Manchester United and Southampton away.

The former Spurs manager has been impressed with the squad Jose Mourinho is building and believes there is enough strength and depth to upset the odds.

"I think they will make top four, I think they could even win the league this year," Redknapp said on Sky Sports. "I know people are going to think I am crazy but I look at that squad… It looks like it’s going to be an open year, look what happened at the weekend.

"I am telling you, that is some squad they’ve got. They’ve got cover in every position. If anyone is going to upset the big two… [Liverpool and Manchester City] Go through that team, have a look at that squad. Son Heung-min. Harry Kane. Gareth Bale.

“Look at the strength in depth. They are full of midfield players. Defensively, they have two right-backs and two left-backs. They could be scary. I think Tottenham are a danger to anyone in that division this year. If anyone else is going to do it, it could be Spurs.”
