Arsenal moved up to second place in the Premier League table with a convincing 3-0 win over Watford.

The Gunners had to overcome some early scares and work hard for their victory against a highly organised and disciplined Watford side who came up with enough spirited attacks of their own.

A deadlock was maintained for over an hour but when the visitors finally took the lead, their goal came through a likely source.

Alexis Sanchez fired the ball into a gaping net after his teammates' incisive breakaway and it was not long before goals from substitute Olivier GIroud and Aaron Ramsey extended the away side's lead.

The Hornets rarely troubled the visitors goal but, just before Sanchez's opener, Etienne Capoue was denied a penalty after being bundled over in the box by Francis Coquelin.

Giroud's goal will have boosted his chances of regaining a starting spot. Theo Walcott was deployed up front from the start again but endured a quiet evening.

Ramsey, meanwhile, scored his first Arsenal goal since the end of last season.

But who truly stood out and whose place may be under threat? Take a look at our gallery to see how we rated each player at Vicarage Road...
