Wayne Rooney was left furious with his Manchester United team-mates after they blew a two goal led at the King Power Stadium.

A video of the team captain has gone viral showing the United and England screaming at his defenders, with Tyler Blackett and Rafael feeling the brunt of Rooney's anger after veteran midfielder Esteban Cambiasso equalised.

But the worst was yet to come for Rooney who saw his United side go on to lose 5-3 after leading 3-1 with an hour played.

The defeat was one of the poorest in United's illustrious history and marks the first time since 1984 that the club have been two goals in front and gone on to lose.

Mark Clattenburg was criticised for awarding two penalties to the home side, but Jamie Vardy announced himself to Premier League fans with a brilliant performance up front for Nigel Pearson's side.

The defeat leaves Manchester United with just one win from their opening five matches, in a start to the season that was statistically the easiest in the Premier League; Louis van Gaal played three promoted clubs and only one team that finished in the top half of the table last aeason.

Van Gaal may also now be facing a defensive crisis with Jonny Evans leaving the stadium on crutches and Tyler Blackett suspended for a game after his red card.

With Phil Jones still out, Chris Smalling is the only senior centre-back the Dutch coach has available for United's match at West Ham on Saturday.
