Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has taken to Twitter in an attempt to end to speculation that an alleged affair with manager David Moyes’ daughter, Lauren, is the reason he has been out of the United side.

Zaha has yet to make an appearance for United in the Premier League, and has only made a total of two appearances for the champions since arriving from Crystal Palace over the summer.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that Zaha’s absence from the side was because he had had relations with Moyes’s 19-year-old daughter, but the England international insists they have never even met, and he will be in the United team when the manager feels he is “ready”.

“I've never dated or even met David moye's [sic] Daughter so that isn't the reason for my absence in games,” he wrote.

“I would like to stop all these false accusations .. I will play for Manchester United when my manager feels I'm ready ...”
