Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo insisted that he will not alter his style of play despite last week’s 2-0 defeat against Leicester.

The 44-year-old faces his sternest test yet when his side entertain Manchester City at Molineux in Saturday's early kick-off, but the Portuguese maintains he is not intimidated by the magnitude of the task ahead.

“They [Manchester City] were fantastic. They .were the best team in the competition, they deserved to break the records,” he said.

“We are talking about a squad full of talent, fantastic manager, big club, the champions. But we are champions also, so we must be proud.”

Nuno was also keen to highlight that his fearlessness would be reflected in his team’s playing style.

“We don’t know how to play any other way,” he said. “There are two ways to react to what happened against Leicester. You react by changing or not. We will not change because we want to build something. It is more important than we keep doing the things that we train to do.”

“We must adapt of course because you have a good opponent in front of you but don’t change. When you want to build something you have to truly believe in what you are doing and keep pushing onto it,” he added.

Wolves’ clash against the champions is one of two games they face this week, but Nuno insists his approach on Saturday will be no different to any other top-flight contest.

“Every team in the Premier League (is tough),” he said. “Last season was the same. I don’t keep on insisting on big difference. We want to be ourselves against any opponent.

“So tomorrow will be the same, and Tuesday again, and Saturday again. We will keep on doing the same things, trying to find solutions for the players, trying to help them and then being ourselves because we have a lot of talent and we must exploit it.”
