Aaron Lennon has joined Everton from Tottenham on a six-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old winger has been deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane, and Mauricio Pochettino has been keen to use former Leeds academy graduate as a make-weight in a player-plus-cash deal for Kevin Mirallas.

Lennon has found opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this season, with Pochettino preferring the attacking options offered by Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli and Andros Townsend.

The England international has made 365 appearances for the club since arriving from Elland Road in 2005.

He has also attracted interest from Stoke City and Leicester City, while a move to Hull City was mooted earlier in the window, with the club having already successfully negotiated deals for Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore and Michael Dawson over the past 18 months.

Tottenham have also been trying to move Emmanuel Adebayor out of the club before the window shuts, while West Ham are in talks regarding captain Younes Kaboul.
