Manchester United are again linked with a move for Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben amid reports that he is ‘at war’ with star striker Robert Lewandowski

According to the Daily Mirror, Louis van Gaal is monitoring the situation of his fellow Dutchman, after the Polish striker reportedly made it clear that Robben is too selfish to play with.

Lewandowski, who has 19 goals in 17 games for Pep Guardiola’s team so far this season, prefers to play with Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman.

Robben has not reacted well and could now leave the Allianz Arena in January.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a good relationship with Van Gaal while he was in charge of the national team at the World Cup, where they reached the semi-finals.

Robben believes he is still good enough to play first-team football at the top level for at least another three years, something he is not currently getting under Guardiola.

He had lost his place at the start of the season after tearing a stomach muscle, but he returned to the Dutch team on Friday with two goals against Wales in Cardiff.

United have lacked pace and width this season, with Juan Mata playing on the right and Memphis Depay enduring a slow start to life at Old Trafford - Adnan Januzaj is out on loan at Borussia Dortmund - meaning Jesse Lingard has become a regular feature in the first-team.
