Arsenal receive offer for Marouane Chamakh from Fiorentina
Italian side Fiorentina have made Arsenal an offer for out of favour striker Marouane Chamakh, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has revealed.
The Morocco international scored 11 times in all competitions during his debut season in England after moving to the Emirates on a free transfer in 2010.
However, his form quickly left him and Chamakh rarely found himself in the starting line-up for much of the 2011/12 campaign and netted just once in 19 appearances.
The arrival of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud appear to have sent the 28-year-old even further down the pecking order.
Now that the Serie A side have expressed their interest, Wenger seems ready to cash in on the player during the current transfer window since any amount of money changing hands would represent a profit on a disappointing signing.
"Fiorentina requested information on his availability and made an offer," said Wenger.
