Arsenal will activate the £29.5m release clause of Palermo striker Paulo Dybala this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The 21-year-old has been dubbed “the future Lionel Messi” by 11th-placed Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, and has scored 12 goals for Serie A this season.

“We’re close to being mathematically safe, then we’ll see where we can go,” Zamparini told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Dybala was spoiled by some messages, but an agent does their job, and I have a good relationship with him.

“For me, Dybala is the Messi of the future, his valuation is worth at least €40m, but let’s see what happens.”
