Arsenal are still in the hunt for the former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to reports.
Hernandez now plays in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 19 goals in 22 appearances this season.
Various reports this morning claim the player is still on Arsene Wenger's radar, and this week the in-form Mexican refused to rule out a move.
"We’ll see, you never know what happens," said Hernandez.
"I’m glad and happy to be part of this great club. In this sport, it does not matter whether you sign a contract for ten years or ten times prolong by one year. In six months, everything can again be different.
"You look at my last three years in which I have played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and now Leverkusen. It is my goal now to play a very good second half."
Southampton's combative midfielder Victor Wanyama is the Gunners' No 1 target for the remainder of the transfer window, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror have reported that Wenger plans on signing a more established midfielder following the arrival of Mohamed Eleneny from FC Basel.
The Kenyan has been coveted by Arsenal since before he joined Southampton from Scottish giants Celtic for £12.5m.
Everton are set to make an offer for the Gunners out-of-favour goalkeeper David Ospina.
Losing his place to Petr Cech, Ospina has made just three appearances for the Gunners this season and has yet to appear in the Premier League.
IB Times have reported the Toffees are set to bid for the Colombian in this transfer window.
