Arsenal are preparing an £11m move for Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports.

Eurosport have reported that the Gunners will make an offer for the Algeria international this summer.

The report continues that Manchester United and Chelsea were also interested in the 24-year-old, who has won 11 caps for his national side.

Elsewhere, Gunners' striker Danny Welbeck is confident the club can compete for the Premier League title next season.

"Chelsea won the league and credit to them," he told Rabona magazine. "They were very consistent last season with their performances and results.

"With Arsenal, at the start of the season we weren't getting as many points as we should have and that's obviously held us back further down the line.

"We don't want to set our aims low, we want to be the best we can be. After the run we went on, it shows that we can handle it in the Premier League and keep racking up wins and three points after three points."
