Chelsea have signed a teenage defender according to the the CEO of Romanian club Viitorul Constanta.

Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu broke the news that the Blues had signed 17-year-old Cristian Manea, but the Premier League champions are yet to mention the deal on any of their official channels.

Manea is highly-rated and can play across the defence or as a holding midfielder.

He has previously been linked with a £2million move to west London and made his international debut at just 16. He would likely have to spend a year at Chelsea's feeder club Vitesse Arnhem before being granted a work permit to play in England.

Until Chelsea announce anything officially it should be perhaps taken with a pinch of salt.
