Reports suggest that the Blues can sign Sporting Lisbon star Joao Mario but only if they fork out £50m for the midfielder. The Portuguese side are keen to fight off interest in the 25-year-old and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be prepared to meet such a high asking price, the Metro reports.

Spanish star Cesc Fabregas could be on his way out from Stamford Bridge though. In light of Antonio Conte’s anticipated squad overhaul, the Daily Mirror has suggested that Jose Mourinho could make a move for the 29-year-old if the midfielder drops down the pecking order.

The Manchester United boss has developed a strong relationship with Fabregas and could have what it takes to persuade the Spaniard to make the move to Old Trafford.

Chelsea have been linked with Roma defender Kostas Manolas once again. The 25-year-old centre-back had been close to signing a new contract with the Italian club but it appears those talks have stalled, according to Gazetta World. The Greek could be on his way out and Chelsea are one of a number of sides reportedly interested in signing him.

Encouraging news for Antonio Conte as he continues to chase down Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante. The Daily Telegraph has reported that the France international snubbed a new deal worth £100,000-a-week, but the Premier League champions are expected to make one last-ditch attempt to keep their man.

Reports suggest Kante is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge but the Foxes are desperate to keep the 25-year-old at the King Power Stadium as they prepare for champions league football in the new season.

Chelsea have refused to give up on Andres Gomes, despite having a £32m bid for the Valencia midfielder rejected earlier this month. The La Liga side are reportedly demanding £54m for their star player but have Real Madrid also recently expressed an interest in the player. Conte certainly has a battle on his hands to sign the highly-coveted midfielder.
