Jose Mourinho said that it would take a "phenomenal" offer for one of their players to push Chelsea into the transfer market this month.

Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah have both been linked with January departures but Mourinho said both would be selected against Bradford City in the FA Cup tomorrow, and that he wanted Schurrle to stay at the club.

"The principle is that we would like Schurrle to stay," Mourinho said earlier this afternoon. Asked what would be required for him to 'allow' Schurrle to leave, Mourinho replied: "The question is not to be allowed or not allowed."

"The question is to have a phenomenal offer and a player to be super keen of accept a new challenge in his career. We don't want to sell our players."

Mourinho said that only a departure this month would drive Chelsea into the market for a replacement.

"If possible we don't want to be involved in the transfer window," he said. "If we have to be it's because somebody pushed us, with some offer for our player, but Chelsea moving and looking for a change? No."
