Chelsea are considering the option of making a bid to sign AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to the Daily Mail. Guus Hiddink has been given the green light to strengthen his forward line at Stamford Bridge as the Premier League champions look to loosen their reliance on Diego Costa. 29-year-old Bacca has scored eight goals in 19 Serie A fixtures this season after joining the San Siro outfit from Sevilla last summer. The Colombian international secured back-to-back Europa League titles with the Spanish side before a £21m switch to Italy. That transfer fee, however, means Chelsea would be inclined to offer big money if the harbour serious interest.

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Loic Remy have been hit by the emergence of Turkish side Galatasaray as potential suitors of the Frenchman. The 29-year-old appears likely to leave the London side this month as he continues to play a secondary role behind first-choice striker Costa, despite the Spain international’s stuttering form. Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both shown an interest in recent weeks but the Daily Express say Spurs fancy their chances of giving Remy a route out of Stamford Bridge. Mauricio Pochettino’s men believe they could get the former Queens Park Rangers man on a cut-prize deal.

Premier League rivals Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Blues defender Ola Aina. The 19-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and various reports have suggested he is preparing to reject any offer the Stamford Bridge outfit may be preparing for him. Aina is believed to have become frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities offered to youth products. The Gunners have a far superior record when it comes to giving young talent a chance, opening the door for Aina to move across the capital to the Emirates. The Daily Mail say Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to have made tentative enquiries but Wenger is confident of getting the deal over the line.

Another forgotten Chelsea star who could be set for the exit door is Papy Djilobodji as Marseille and Stuttgart prepare to launch bids. The 27-year-old was signed from Ligue 1 side Nantes for £2.25 on a three-year contract as a compromise after the Blues failed to lure John Stones from Everton. However, after playing just one minute of football under former boss Jose Mourinho, it became apparent to Djilobodji that he wasn’t in the club’s plans. The Daily Mail suggest Stuttgart are willing to take him on loan until the end of the season without any further strings attached while Marseille would want an agreement to sign the Senegalese international at the end of the season.

Stamford Bridge chiefs are confident of convincing Ruben Loftus-Cheek to sign a new long-term deal with the club after scoring in the FA Cup against Scunthorpe. According to the Daily Telegraph, the hierarchy are finally ready to commit to the youngster’s future after previously being unsure about his ability to become a first-team regular. Chelsea believe their strong relationship with Loftus-Cheek could be the key to persuading him to ignore interest from other clubs. Gary Cahill, his team-mate, recently said: “Ruben has had a couple of runs in the team and I think he’s a top, top player. If you look at the attributes, he’s got all the attributes. It’s just how he progresses.”
