Chelsea will not sell David Luiz despite interest from Bayern Munich

Chelsea have no plans to sell David Luiz and will tell interested clubs that he is not for sale at any price.

Luiz, who has just won the Confederations Cup, continues to be targeted by some of Europe’s top sides following impressive performances for club and country.

Bayern Munich are the latest club to have contacted his advisors and are planning to make a £35million bid for his services.

Both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also registered their interest and feel they can lure the 26-year-old away from Stamford Bridge.

But Standard Sport understands that Chelsea have no plans to cash in on their prize asset, who joined the Blues from Benfica in a £25m deal in 2011.

Luiz signed a new five-year contract just 10 months ago and has been earmarked as a future captain of the side.

His ability to play in midfield and at centre-half has made Luiz an invaluable member of the squad.

There has been talk that new boss Jose Mourinho, who is set to start work at the training ground in Cobham at the end of the week, has reservations about Luiz’s ability.

But Mourinho named Luiz as one of the players he was looking forward to working with during an interview with the club’s TV channel last month.
