Emmanuel Eboue has revealed that he would "love" to return to Arsenal after he was released by Galatasaray.

The Ivorian had spent six years with the Gunners, but his time there was more known for its cult status, with the right-back putting in a number of error-prone performances which riled the Arsenal faithful.

Eboue was booed off by a section of Arsenal followers during a substitute appearance against Wigan in 2008, with the defender leaving the pitch in tears after the jeering of his own supporters.

He is now a free agent, and targeting a sensational return to the Emirates Stadium.

“I came back for training [at Galatasaray] and was told I would not be playing,” he told the Sun.

“The president told the manager at the time no to pick me. The way I was treated was very unfair.

“We are looking for options but I’d love to come back to Arsenal.”

Eboue made 214 appearances for the club between 2005 and 2011.
