Despite the confidence of his manager, Fernando Torres missed another great chance in a pre-season friendly yesterday.

The Spanish striker, who has struggled since his £50m move from Liverpool in 2011, has endured an awful summer in front of goal, missing a number of good chances for the Blues.

With £32m man Diego Costa now at Stamford Bridge, as well as the return of Champions League hero Didier Drogba, Torres must realise his days as Chelsea's main man are numbered.

Mourinho last week insisted he would not be sold, but misses like the one against Werder Bremen, where Chelsea lost 3-0, will not help his or his manager's confidence.

After a cross came in from the right, Torres did well to find himself alone at the back post, but promptly snatched at the chance and smashed the ball over the top (skip to 45 seconds)

The Blues still have four pre-season games in which Torres will be given time to find some form, but with clubs around Europe rumoured to be interested in the 30-year-old, Torres may not last two more windows at Chelsea.
