Manchester United are reportedly closing in on Benfica winger Goncalo Guedes. The 19-year-old, billed as the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo', has been watched by scouts and with the club eager to bolster their attacking options they will look to push through a deal this month. The Portugal international has scored four goals in 19 appearances this term.

Chelsea are also reportedly targeting a teenager during this transfer window. The reigning Premier League champions have been linked with 18-year-old Amadou Diawara, along with numerous other clubs including Tottenham. The midfielder only joined Bologna in the summer for £420,000 from Serie D side San Marino Calcio but after a string of impressive displays, is now being valued at around £11m.

Manchester City could be spending big yet again with the title chasing side interested in signing Leroy Sane. Schalke are understood to be seeking £32m for the 19-year-old forward, although Manchester City hope to be able to sign him for less than that figure. Clinching a deal this month could be problematic, with the Bundesliga club clearly in no mood to sell a player who only agreed fresh terms in June. “We don’t want to sell him and Leroy doesn’t want to leave the club,” Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt told the German newspaper Bild. “Even Man City haven’t got that much money.”

Watford goal machine Odion Ighalo is a wanted man, with Atletico Madrid reportedly eyeing up a swoop for the Nigerian. But it seems the striker is happy at Vicarage Road and has indicated he wants to remain.

Leicester City duo Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez continue to be linked with transfers away from the King Power Stadium, but manager Claudio Ranieri insists neither will be leaving this month. "Nobody goes from Leicester," said the Italian. The pair have scored 28 Premier League goals between them this term.
