Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Lazar Markovic will leave the club to join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan, but he did reveal that the playmaker "still has a future" at Anfield.

Markovic failed to impress at Liverpool last season after making a £20m move from Benfica last summer.

The Serbian international made 31 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season, including 11 starts in the Premier League. He scored two goals for the club.

Asked whether the winger still has a future at Anfield, ahead of the Premier League game against West Ham on Saturday, Rodgers said: "Yes he does."

Rodgers also spoke of the departure of Mario Balotelli to Milan. The Italian striker has moved to San Siro on a season-long loan.

"It's a good move for Mario," he said. "He goes to play and gets a season of playing football in his homeland and that will be good for him."
