Liverpool defender Glen Johnson is being linked with a January transfer to Juventus.

The England international has entered into the last year of his contract at Anfield and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

That has led to speculation over where the 30-year-old's future lies.

In January he will be free to speak to other clubs and according to the Mirror Juventus will be among them. However, it's claimed that the Serie A champions will look to push through a cut-price deal in January rather than wait until the end of the season.

A switch to Turin, or any other Italian club, would continue a recent trend of English full-backs joining Serie A. Ashley Cole joined Roma after running down his contract at Chelsea and Micah Richards has joined Fiorentina on loan.

Johnson joined Liverpool from Portsmouth in 2009 for around £17.5m. He has since gone on to make 174 appearances for the Reds.
