Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic linked with Anzhi Makhachkala
Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has emerged as a target for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
According to reports, the big spending side who currently top the Russian Premier League, are prepared to offer the Serbian international £250,000-a-week wages to tempt him from Old Trafford.
The defender is currently sidelined following a knee operation, and having missed the final five months of last season through injury, it is not inconceivable that United could decide to cash-in on the player who joined them from Spartak Moscow in 2006.
Throughout the 30-year-old's time in Manchester he has been linked with a move away, often sparked by rumours that his wife is unhappy in the north-west. Moves to Barcelona and Juventus have been mooted in the past.
There is no question that the Dagestan based club, who are managed by Guus Hiddink, are in a position to afford the huge wages rumoured. They currently pay Samuel Eto'o £325,000-a-week, making the Cameroon international the highest paid player in the world.
