Diogo Dalot joins Manchester United

Manchester United are getting their business done early with more almost certain to follow as the transfer window is shortened to close before the start of the season.

Diogo Dalot has joined from Porto, while the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred is agreed in principle and set to be officially confirmed imminently.

Jose Mourinho has a five-position list that he wants filled with another full-back and a centre back high on the list.

As for the other, Ed Woodward is always on the scout for a star name to boost his ever-blossoming commercial department and Gareth Bale is the obvious man to fill that this summer – although Mourinho is understood to have gone cold on the idea after Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January.

Bale’s wages are another stumbling point, one that United could get around with ease however after being named the richest club in the world.

So, should Mourinho get the five players he wants this season to bridge the gap with Manchester City, how would his new-look United side shape up? Scroll through the gallery to find out…
