Manchester United transfer news: United plotting last-minute deal for ex-Man City full-back Omar Elabdellaoui

Manchester United have been offered Olympiakos full-back Omar Elabdellaoui in a last-minute January transfer, according to reports.

United are currently in the midst of an injury crisis - with Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian all sidelined at present.

The Daily Star have reported that the Greek giants want to loan out the 24-year-old for the remainder of the season for a fee of £2.5m.

They then want a further £7.5m to make the move permanent.

The Norway international, Elabdellaoui , had started his professional career at neighbouring Manchester City after joining from Norwegian club Skeid aged 16.

Louis van Gaal has yet to add to his squad in this transfer window, having spent over £160 million in the summer.

"I will go back home and wine will be ready. An expensive wine. It is from Ed Woodward," former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach Van Gaal, who on Thursday accused the media of "sacking" him three times already this season, told reporters.

"I liked the performance in the first half, it had a lot of confidence and that is back which is very important.

"The second half was even better, we created a lot of chances and we scored goals. But also we created more chances to score more goals. I am a very happy coach."
