Broad is keeping himself occupied when he's not bowling South Africa out by playing Football Manager

Stuart Broad is not content with just a series victory in South Africa as well as becoming the highest-ranked Test bowler in world cricket – the England star is also attempting to win the Premier League with his all-star line-up.

Of course, we’re not talking about the professional top flight, but rather what every one of us football fans attempt to achieve each season in taking our favourite team all the way on Football Manager.

And Broad has proven that he’s just like the rest of us after posting his team on his Twitter account to reveal how he’s keeping himself entertained in-between matches in South Africa, although shamefully Broad is currently playing with Manchester United and no his beloved Nottingham Forest.

Fresh from another incredible spell of bowling that saw the Nottinghamshire bowler take six wickets for just 17 runs in 12.1 overs, Broad was quizzed by Football Manager director Miles Jacobson whether he was in a rush to wrap-up the third Test in order to get back to Football Manager.

Ever the fan pleaser, Broad responded with a screenshot of his side and replied: “@milesSI you weren’t far wrong Miles!”

One eagle-eyed United fan clocked that Broad must have been struggling to meet the home-grown quota employed in the Champions League as well as the Premier League, but Broad had an ace up his sleeve given that former Manchester United players Paul Pogba and Gerard Pique – who both featured in Broad’s side – both qualify for the quota due to their spells in England early in their careers.

So who features in Broad’s line-up? Well, given that the fast bowler is already in 2021 in the most recent version, there’s not many United players left in the side, demonstrating Broad holds the same cut-throat transfer approach as his predecessor Louis van Gaal.

Broad will hope to continue his rich vein of form in the fourth and final Test against South Africa, which begins on Friday in Centurion, with England holding an unassailable lead.
