Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has admitted that Pedro "wants to leave" Barca as Manchester United close in on the Spanish winger.

Pedro has been strongly linked with United all summer and has a £22m release clause.

The Spain international started 15 out of 35 La Liga appearances last season, and Enrique has admitted that the winger has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time and is seeking a move.

"We've heard his opinions, it's a difficult decision that he has to make but we'll wait and see what he decides," Enrique said at a press conference.

"He wants to leave because he's not getting minutes but we want to give him minutes so it's a difficult situation. I certainly want him to stay.

"I'm looking forward to the end of the transfer market so I'll know exactly what I do have."

He continued: "I don't want to get drawn into controversies, we all understand Pedro's situation, he's always someone the Barca fans will love because of his personality and his performances on the pitch."

Pedro, 28, has scored 99 goals in 319 games for Barcelona, and has won five La Liga titles with the club.
