Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool set to lose out as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar weighs up his options

The Dutch striker has one year left on his current contract at Schalke and is considering a variety of offers, including reported interest from the Premier League

Reported Liverpool target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is the subject of contract offers from Turkey.

The Schalke striker has one year left on his current deal with the Gelsenkirchen-based giants and is looking to move on - but his agent says that any negotiations must be carried out with the full knowledge of Huntelaar's current club.

"We have received offers from Turkey for Huntelaar but we are still at an early stage," confirmed the Dutchman's agent Arnold Oosterveer.

"We have also had other offers and it’s essential now that we make the right choice."

"I will hold talks with Schalke regarding his future.

"We will not make our final decision without discussing with Schalke first."

The Netherlands striker, nicknamed 'The Hunter' for his penalty-box prowess has often been linked with moves to the Premier League.

Spurs are thought to be long-term admirers of the 30-year-old, whilst Liverpool were believed to be weighing up an offer during the World Cup in Brazil as their search for a replacement for Luis Suarez continues.

Huntelaar has scored 91 goals in 139 appearances during his tiem in the Bundesliga, to add to his 35 international strikes - numbers that will appeal to a Premier League manager should he become available on a free transfer next summer.
