Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino insists the North London club do not need to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes.

Following the 1-0 opening weekend Premier League defeat to Manchester United, supporters called for the Argentine boss to look into the prospect of bringing in new attacking talent.

Harry Kane, who scored 31 goals in all competitions last season, spearheaded the attack at Old Trafford but, with Emmanuel Adebayor set to leave the club this month, Pochettino may be tempted to delve into the market at some point.

The Spurs boss, who hinted Lyon striker Clinton N'Jie is likely to join in the coming days, said: "We have different players that can play like a striker and we have different offensive players that can play in different options.

With Villarreal closing in on the capture of Soldado this week, Pochettino will be heavily reliant on the attacking exploits of midfielders Nacer Chadli (11) and Christian Eriksen (10), both of whom hit double figures last term.
