Transfer news: Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer uses Manchester United link to approach Wilfried Zaha over loan
Former United striker uses Red Devils connections to become the favourite to sign Zaha
Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stolen a march on his Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Crystal Palace in the Bluebirds' attempts to lure Wilfried Zaha to South Wales.
Having made just two appearances for the Premier League champions since his £10m move from the Eagles, Zaha has struggled to break into the United side and has been told by manager David Moyes that he is available on loan.
Solskjaer enjoyed a happy start to life back in English football after a fine 2-1 away win at Newcastle United in the FA Cup third round but hopes to strengthen his squad over the coming month.
Also trying to sign Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli, both of whom also played for United, the Norwegian has been given a £25m transfer kitty, according to The Mail.
The funds given to him present a change in tactics from controversial owner Vincent Tan after the Malaysian tycoon sacked Malky Mackay for over-spending during the summer window.
