Transfer news: Crystal Palace revive interest in Everton striker Nikica Jelavic and Blackpool midfielder Tom Ince - reports

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has set his sights on completing the double signing of Nikica Jelavic and Tom Ince as the Eagles look to strengthen their survival bid.

The Telegraph report that Pulis is willing to part with £3.5m to secure a deal for Everton's out-of-favour forward and has made a preliminary enquiry for Blackpool winger Tom Ince.

Also interested in Blackburn Rovers centre-back Scott Dann, the Selhurst Park club are keen to get their business done early.

News has subsided in recent days of Ligue 1 side Monaco's interest in Blackpool's 21-year-old midfielder, after reports surfaced on Monday that the French giants were planning a lucrative offer.

Ince has scored on seven occasions in the Championship this season but six of those came in the first ten games this season, with only one in the last eleven.

Swansea are also pursuing Ince as they await news on injured Spanish winger Pablo Hernandez, who suffered a hamstring injury during their 3-2 loss to Manchester City on New Year's Day.

Jelavic, on the other hand, has been identified as Palace's primary target and, while Pulis is prepared to offer the Croatia international a fresh start, he will be offered less money than he is currently on at Goodison Park.

The 28-year-old is also a target for Queens Park Rangers, five points adrift of leaders Leicester City in the second tier, but the prospect of staying in the Premier League will enhance Pulis’s hopes of completing a deal.

Dann, another target, is also on Palace’s radar but his reported £30,000-a-week wages are seen as a potential stumbling block to any potential move.

Pulis said: “We need to get some players into the club this month to give us an even better chance of staying in the Premier League. The window is vitally important to us and it gives us a real opportunity to strengthen for the final half of the season.

“We’ve got lots of irons in the fire and we’re all working hard to bring people in. We’ve caught up with the pack and we’re not too far away now, we’ve given ourselves a chance.”
