David Luiz could be set for stunning return to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea allegedly made a £30m bid for the defender.

Antonio Conte has struggled all throughout summer to land defensive cover, having failed to land the likes of Alessio Romagnoli and Kalidou Koulibaly, and has now turned to the former Blues defender in a last-ditch attempt to bolster his backline.

Meanwhile, Arsenal received 22 offers for Jack Wilshere after allowing him to leave the club on loan, with the England international choosing between Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, according to reports.

Wilshere was given approval from manager Arsene Wenger to leave the club on loan after the pair held talks over his future, with Wilshere currently out of the starting line-up due to the arrival of Granit Xhaka and Wenger’s preference to play Santi Cazorla in midfield.

The 24-year-old has allegedly ruled out the chance to play abroad.

Striker Wilfried Bony, who has failed to hit the heights since his £28million move from Swansea in January last year, has been pictured arriving at Stoke's training ground.

It’s understood the player is undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Potters Lane and the player himself tweeted: "It's a new day and I look forward to a new exciting challenge."

Bony might not be the only arrival at Stoke, with Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi also thought to be on the cards.

Further north, it is understood City playmaker Samir Nasri is in discussions with Sevilla while defender Eliaquim Mangala could also be on the move.

Mangala, a £42million signing from Porto two years ago, has been linked with a return to the Estadio do Dragao but a number of clubs are currently interested in securing the player’s signature.

Arsenal transfer news - Tuesday 30 August

Elsewhere, Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been given permission to leave the France training camp to complete a move away from St James’ Park. The details of where he’ll moving to have not yet been revealed but it’s believed Tottenham have made an offer for the player.

Newcastle are demanding £35m for the Euro 2016 star.

The Premier League champions are keeping themselves busy too. According to reports, Leicester have finally agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon for Islam Slimani.

The Portuguese side reportedly turned down a £25m bid from the Foxes in the early hours of Tuesday morning but accepted an increased second bid worth around £30m.

Lastly, Everton forward Shani Tarashaj joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan in one of the first completed deals of the day.

The 21-year-old Switzerland international joined the Toffees from Grasshopper in January but spent the remainder of last season back on loan at the Zurich club.
