Monaco are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur's English right back Kyle Walker.

The Ligue 1 side had been weighing up a move for North London rivals Arsenal's right back Bakary Sagna but with the Gunners attempting to sign him to a lucrative new contract, Monaco are looking elsewhere.

However Walker only signed a new Spurs deal in October and is under contract at the club until 2019 so any move would seem unlikely or rather pricey.

Then again Monaco have been one of the biggest spenders in Europe over the last year, spending around £140m, so the size of the transfer fee may not put them off.

If Tottenham are presented with a large offer they may decide to cash in on the England international, as they did with Gareth Bale.

Elsewhere the Spurs is looking a little threadbare with the news that Jan Vertonghen is unlikely to play again before the new year after failing to recover quickly from an ankle injury.
