Manchester United priced Juventus out of the race to sign Paul Pogba after valuing the French midfielder at £180m as they bid to keep him at Old Trafford, according to the Star.

Juventus pulling out of the competition to sign the World Cup winner leaves Real Madrid as front runners to sign him. Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he wants to bring Pogba to the Spanish capital and adding him to the side would make Real Madrid one of the strongest sides in Europe after a recent slump.

PSG meanwhile, seem to be getting no closer to converting any of their interest in Pogba into a formal offer as they continue to work to find a resolution to Neymar's future.

The Independent recently revealed that Manchester United turned down an offer from PSG to swap Neymar and Pogba.

Pogba was named on the bench for United's first pre-season friendly against Perth United today.

Arsenal have reignited their interest in Benfica defender Ruben Dias, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal's need for a new central defender has intensified after captain Laurent Koscielny went on strike and refused to board the plane for the club's tour of America.

Dias was among the defenders the Gunners considered a move for at the start of the window and they compiled a dossier on the 22 year old Portugal international.

Manchester United are also said to be closely monitoring Dias' situation as their search for defensive reinforcements continues.

Manchester United are demanding around £90m from Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in The Telegraph.

Inter Milan's sporting director, Piero Ausilio met with Manchester United officials in London on Friday, but the Italian side have made no formal offer for the Belgian striker.

United are under no pressure to sell players this summer, despite Lukaku's desire to join Antonio Conte's side, and they would need to see a huge return on the £75m they paid to Everton for the forward in 2017.

West Ham are in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Sebastian Haller.

Sky Sports are reporting that the German club want at least £40m for the forward after they sold Luka Jovic to Real Madrid for £54m.

West Ham missed out on the chance to sign Maxi Gomez. but the London club are confident about their chances of bringing Haller to the London Stadium.

Haller scored 15 Bundasliga goals last season and five more in Frankfurt's run to the Europa League final, where they lost to Chelsea.

Which north-London side will land William Saliba this summer, Arsenal or Tottenham?

Arsenal were set to land the Saint-Etienne central defender for £27m, but their rivals have revived their interested in him and look to crash the deal.

A deal to bring the 18-year-old to the Emirates would suit Arsenals budget as the agreement with the French club would see the transfer fee paid in installments and he would return to play on loan next season.

Ajax have announced defender Matthijs De Ligt has been left out of their squad for their summer tour to Austria pending "a possible transfer".

Teenager De Ligt, a target for several of Europe's biggest clubs, including Manchester United, is close to sealing a move to Italian champions Juventus, it has been reported.

Ajax said in a statement on their official website: "Ajax left Saturday afternoon with 28 players to the training camp in Bramberg, Austria. Awaiting a possible transfer, Matthijs De Ligt does not travel with the group."

United, Barcelona and Paris St Germain have all been linked with De Ligt this summer, but it has been reported in Italy that Ajax and Juventus have agreed a £71.6million deal for the 19-year-old.

De Ligt played a starring role for Ajax last season as they won the Eredivisie title and reached a Champions League semi-final.

The Holland international was expected to join Barcelona but - after talks faltered over personal terms - Juventus appear to have won the race for his signature.

De Ligt has agreed a reported deal worth £10.4m a season with Juve, who extended their record of successive Serie A titles to nine last season.(PA)
