Transfer talk: Tottenham's Harry Kane to Real Madrid; Javier Hernandez to Italy; Mats Hummels to Man United

Javier Hernandez could be on his way to Italian giants Lazio from Manchester United - despite the fact he isn't actually playing his football at Old Trafford.

The Mexican international was loaned out to Real Madrid in the summer as backup for Karim Benzema, after falling down Luis van Gaal's pecking order behind the lacks of Van Persie, Rooney and Falcao.

United want to cash in on Hernandez before his contract with them runs out altogether, and with Real reportedly unwilling to make the deal permanent Lazio could swoop before Monday's window shuts, according to the Daily Star.

Staying with United, and their long-running attempts to sign Dortmund centre-half Mats Hummels.

The German star and captain of his club side has consistently said he is happy to stay with Jurgen Klopp in the Bundesliga - but according to Sport Bild, Van Gaal has not given up hope.

United are reported to be planning a sensational €50 million offer - enough to make Hummels the second-most expensive defender of all time behind PSG's David Luiz.

Liverpool are reported to be keen on the "next Sergio Busquets", Ruben Neves.

Though he's actually Portuguese not Spanish, the 17-year-old Porto wonderkid has just the right combination of style and aggression to emulate the Barcelona midfielder, according to Cristian Tello - who has played alongside both.

The Daily Express reported Liverpool are poised to beat a host of top European clubs to Neves' signature - and could even be willing to meet a £29m release clause to do so.

Queens Park Rangers winger Junior Hoilett could be on his way out of the Premier League, meanwhile, after falling out of favour with manager Harry Redknapp.

Hoilett, 24, has not quite been able to live up to his own glowing reputation after a big move from Blackburn, and according to the Mail Online Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in bringing him back to Germany, where he spent two seasons on loan at the start of his career.

Chelsea look set to bolster their Serbian contingent, after Partizan Belgrade midfielder Danilo Pantic suggested a deal to take him to London was close.

At 18, Pantic is the captain of the Serbian international youth squad, and according to Bleacher Report he could join Nemanja Matic and Branislav Ivanovic at Chelsea "in the next day or two".

Real Madrid are again reported to be interested in David de Gea - but look more likely to get the Spanish goalkeeper for nothing in 2016 than swoop with a big-money deal now.

The offer of being the long-term successor to Iker Casillas when his current United deal runs out will be an undeniable temptation to the 24-year-old, who came to Manchester from Atletico Madrid for £18m in June 2011.

Casillas, 33, has regained his place as Carlo Ancelloti's number 1 - but has also indicated a desire to play in the US before he hangs up his gloves, the Telegraph reported.

And finally, Real Madrid could be lining up a shock big-money move for the in-form Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The Spurs forward has added goals to his all-round play this season, netting 18 in 26 matches, and according to Metro that has not gone unnoticed. A move could be particularly likely if Hernandez leaves the "Abu Dhabi" Bernabeu, though 21-year-old Kane would likely have to settle for a supporting role in the short term.
