Manchester United will make a late bid to rival Arsenal for Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista, according to the Daily Star. The Brazilian, 24, is currently in talks with the Gunners over a £15m transfer.

The agent of United goalkeeper David De Gea has hinted that the player may not stay at the club for the majority of his contract. The 24-year-old's current deal expires in 2016, with Real Madrid seeing him as Iker Casillas's natural successor.

"David is amazing, he's brilliant," agent Jorge Mendes told Marca when asked if De Gea could move to Madrid.

"He's a Man United player and has a contract there. You have to respect that but things change every five minutes."

The Gunners, meanwhile, are also keen on signing Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto, according to the Daily Mail. The move would put regular No 1 Wojciech Szczesny's spot in serious jeopardy.

Darren Fletcher could be on his way out of Old Trafford, with West Brom manager Tony Pulis confirming interest in the 30-year-old United midfielder.

Roma are closing in on a deal for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah on a season-long loan until the end of the season, according to reports.

The Italian side hope to take on the player on loan for the next 18 months, before completing a permanent deal in the summer of 2016.
