Transfer Talk: Moussa Sissoko wants Arsenal move; Saido Berahino refuses to rule out Liverpool or Tottenham switch
A look at the latest major transfer rumours
Moussa Sissoko has laid tracks for a departure from Newcastle to Arsenal. The midfielder had already been linked with a move to the Gunners and has now made clear he would like such a switch. "The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle,” Sissoko reportedly told Telefoot. "If anything should happen, it will. I hope I’ll leave for a bigger club one day, but I don’t know when. England is my priority. If [Arsene] Wenger calls, I’ll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we’ll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart. I hope I’ll improve to win the Champions League one day. I don’t want to set limits to myself. I want to go higher. That’s my goal.”
Wilfried Bony's switch to Manchester City is nearly complete. A fee in the region of £28m has been accepted by Swansea with the move likely to be concluded early next week. The deal will see the top Premier League scorer of 2014 join the champions and provide cover and competition for an already impressive forward line. Read more on that here.
Saido Berahino proved just why there is so much talk around him yesterday by scoring the winner in Tony Pulis' first league game in charge of West Brom. The 21-year-old has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham and speaking after the victory over Hull yesterday, Berahino did little to quell the speculation: “I’m playing, I can’t complain. I’m starting to score goals again, which I’m enjoying. That’s as far as it goes. Obviously I’ve got big ambitions, but at the moment I’m a West Brom player and I’m enjoying my football. There are always rumours going around, but I can’t control anything. The only thing I can control is what I do on the field."
Fabian Delph continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool. The midfielder will be out of contract at Aston Villa at the end of the season and therefore his current club could be tempted to cash in on him this month. Recent reports suggested the player himself wanted to wait until the end of the season before moving but suggestions today that Liverpool could offer £7.5m could pave the way for an imminent deal.
Marco Reus has been linked with a move to Chelsea. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is in demand and has already been linked with most major teams in Europe. Reports today suggest that although Jose Mourinho already has an incredibly talented midfield at his disposal, he sees Reus as a good replacement for Andre Schurrle, who the Special One is losing patience with.
