The January transfer window is now officially open and will run for the next month.

You can all expect plenty of rumours and gossip - some of it less convincing than others - from now until the end of January.

As we saw in August with the extremely late arrival of Radamel Falcao to Manchester United, at 1.30am - well past the 11pm deadline, managers will use every last minute (and more) to bring in players.

Whether your team is chasing the title, looking to get into the top four or top half, or desperately trying to avoid relegation, every manager of every club will be hoping to bring in new blood and get rid of dead wood.

With Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as every other club in the Premier League, all in need of strengthening during the next few weeks, expect a busy month.

When does the window close?

Like in the summer, the January transfer window will also stretch slightly into February because of the way the calendar falls.

The first of February is a Sunday, meaning the window officially closes at 11pm on Monday, 2 February.
