Josh Warrington has established himself as one of Britain’s most popular boxers over the past two years, and the 20-0 Featherweight is a title machine.

Although only 24-years-old, Warrington has already won the English, Commonwealth, British and EBU Featherweight titles, and on Saturday nights he competes for the WBC International title against Filipino fighter Dennis Tubieron.

Leeds born and bred, Warrington is a huge star in the sports heavy city, and competes at the First Direct Arena for the fourth time in his career.

It took Warrington 16 fights to achieve his first stoppage victory, but he has since achieved four in his last five fights and will fancy his chances to do so yet again when he meets the 25-year-old Tubieron.

With a 19-3-2 record across a six year career, Tubieron fights outside of The Philippines for the third time in his career after an unsuccessful appearance in Australia and South Africa earlier in his career.

Warrington is a huge favourite with the bookmakers at an incredible 1/25 while Tubieron is available at a massive 14/1.

Although he has been stopped twice already in his career, Warrington’s power is not always evident, so a 7/4 bet for the fight to go the distance could be a pleasant bet for any gamblers looking for a hint of value.

Elsewhere on the card, Super featherweights Martin Joseph Ward and Maxi Hughes rematch after a majority draw in their first contest back in December.

Ward was a highly touted prospect for a number of years, but the 23-year-old has stalled over the past year, while Hughes gets another chance to impress on the big stage.

The rest of the undercard in Leeds is disappointing, especially after the cancellation this week of the Chris Jenkins/Tyrone Nurse British Welterweight title scrap.

After Jenkins pulled out through an illness, Nurse still appears on the bill along with the likes of British Light heavyweight champion Bob Ajisafe, Callum Johnson, and Prizefighter winner Jono Carroll.

Lee vs Quillin, Saturday night 1.30am, BoxNation

Ireland’s Andy Lee produced two of the best boxing moments of 2014 beginning with a sensational come from behind victory against John Jackson in May.

He followed up the knockout of the year with another superb victory over Russia’s previously undefeated Matt Korobov for the WBO Middleweight title.

Lee makes the first defence of his belt against 31-0 Peter Quillin who is the former holder of the very same title after vacating it in April 2014.

Quillin has not fought since then, and makes his first appearance in a year against Lee who will be brimming with confidence after his last two performances.

A 31-0 record is impressive, but Quillin has never truly excelled at the elite level despite defending the WBO championship three times.

Despite his inactivity, he is a big favourite at 2/5 with Lee available at around 9/4.

The equaliser of Lee’s devastating punches could tempt some into a 9/2 stoppage win, while Quillin to finish the fight early is the shortest method of victory bet at 5/4.

An excellent card of boxing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn also contains a fight between 29-0 Danny Garcia and the 33-2-1 Lamont Peterson.

Garcia made his name by stopping Amir Khan in 2012, but over the past three years he has struggled to break through into the mainstream even after defeating Lucas Matthysse in 2013.

Peterson also defeated Khan a year earlier than Garcia, however his career has also stagnated despite winning the IBF welterweight title in January 2014.

This bout will take place at a catchweight of 143 pounds with no belts on the line, which may upset boxing purists, but will at least ensure both men will be fully hydrated and ready to go come fight night.

The odds suggest a win for Garcia at 1/3, with Peterson an outsider at 14/5, although he was finished early against Lucas Matthysse two years ago, and as his opponent typically stops his victims in the early rounds, the undefeated Garcia between rounds one and three at 12/1 a tantalising bet.

Make sure to keep an eye out for prospect Errol Spence on the undercard when the 15-0 Texan faces 20-1-1 Samuel Vargas.
