Dereck Chisora vs David Price result: Chisora wins by stoppage to make heavyweight statement

Dereck Chisora beat David Price by technical knockout to make a huge statement in the heavyweight division.

The man nicknamed WAR had a difficult camp, with original opponent Joseph Parker being forced to pull out because of a reported spider bite – and was frustrated to not be headlining a card which he believes sold out the O2 Arena because of him.

He will be most pleased with his performance, however, after delivering a stoppage in the fourth round to send waves around the division.

Chisora dominated from the beginning and was the aggressor from early on, working the body in a tactical and astute way which tired and hurt Price with each devastating blow.

The man nicknamed ‘WAR’ strayed low to the belt line a number of times but it was all in the plan, with Price having no response as the rounds wore on.

After delivering a masterclass performance against Dave Allen just a few months ago, and later discussing the ‘levels’ to the game, the case remained and proved to be true at the O2 Arena as Chisora simply outworked and outhustled the experienced man.

It was the fourth round which saw the bout come to an end as Chisora landed a straight right followed by an uppercut and a final blow to the top of the head which sent the giant frame of Price crashing to the canvas.

As he struggled to get back to his feet, legs wobbly and tired, the referee intervened and waved the bout off.

Chisora now goes on and could fight Joseph Parker in a bout that was originally scheduled for the O2 Arena, while Price will have a lot to think about.
