Cycling: Cavendish suffers high-speed crash Down Under
Mark Cavendish sustained serious cuts above his left eye after he was involved in a dramatic crash a few miles from the finish of the second stage of the Tour Down Under yesterday.
The Manxman also had deep lacerations and abrasions to his shoulder, side and knee but was expected to be fit to contest today's third stage.
Britain's Ben Swift, of Team Sky, won the stage to Mannum in South Australia, while Australian Robbie McEwen took the overall lead.
