Cycling: Evans triumphs in Italy and sets sights on Tour

Cadel Evans won the Tirreno-Adriatico race yesterday when he held off his rivals in the final time trial dominated by the Swiss Fabian Cancellara.

BMC rider Evans finished 31 seconds off the pace but it was enough for overall victory. "I trained really hard this winter," said the Australian, "I'm working towards the Tour de France."
