Germany's John Degenkolb won the second stage of the Tour of Spain in a sprint finish at the end of a 181-kilometre race from Pamplona to Viana yesterday.
Degenkolb, riding for Dutch team Argos-Shimano, claimed his first major Tour stage win, holding off Australia's Allan Davis, of Orica-Greenedge, and Britain's Ben Swift, of Team Sky, who had led early on but had to settle for third.
Spain's Jonathan Castroviejo retained the leader's red jersey for the Movistar team.
