Bradford Bulls chairman Peter Hood has played down reports of a takeover bid. Businessman Steve Parkin wants to buy both Bradford City and the Super League team to form a joint sporting club in the city, with the aim of constructing a purpose-built stadium for them to share.

The Yorkshire Post says that Parkin has submitted a bid for City and has been in secret talks with representatives of both clubs for weeks, but Hood denied "any dialogue" with Parkin.

"That is news to me," he said. "Neither I nor any of the directors has... received any expression of interest on his behalf."
